Powell Peak

Powell Peak is a summit in Grand County, Colorado, in the United States. With an elevation of 13,176 feet (4,016 m), Powell Peak is the 493rd-highest summit in the state of Colorado. The peak was named for John Wesley Powell. The mountain's toponym was officially adopted in 1961 by the United States Board on Geographic Names. Precipitation runoff from the mountain's east slope drains into Glacier Creek which is a tributary of the Big Thompson River, and the west slope drains to Grand Lake via North Inlet.
